You don’t always need a traditional cake. Our classic cinnamon buns can become a wedding cake, birthday centrepiece, late-night snack, next-day brunch or a dessert table your guests will get excited about.

Cinnamon Bun Celebration Cakes

Our classic cinnamon buns with cream cheese icing can be stacked and styled into a one-of-a-kind celebration cake. 

Stack them. Add flowers. Bring out the cake topper. Add candles. Have your florist work their magic. Or keep things beautifully simple and let the cinnamon buns speak for themselves.

How it works:

  1. We provide the initial consultation for how many cinnamon buns you need for your event and vision. Send an inspiration photo along with your inquiry! It helps us understand what you’re imagining.
  2. Place the order.
  3. Pick-up at our Alma or Commercial Drive location on the planned date.
  4. You, your caterer, planner or florist can create a display that fits your celebration.

Please note: Grounds for Coffee provides the cinnamon buns but does not provide cake stands, assemble celebration cakes or add flowers, toppers or custom decorations. All assembly and styling takes place after pickup.

Caterers, wedding planners, venues and event professionals are welcome to order on behalf of their clients. Our products are generally supplied in their regular packaging for pickup from Grounds, leaving you free to plate, stack, style and serve them however works best for your event.

Are event or volume discounts available?

Yes, we offer bulk volume pricing, email Carolyn at carolyn@groundsforcoffee.ca for more information.

Do you make cinnamon bun wedding cakes?

We provide the cinnamon buns to create them! Our classic cinnamon buns with cream cheese icing can be arranged into beautiful tiered wedding and celebration cakes.

Grounds does not assemble the finished cake. Your buns are picked up from one of our Vancouver locations, and you, your caterer, planner or florist assemble and decorate the final display. We’re happy to discuss your idea and provide suggestions based on your guest count and desired look.

Does Grounds provide the cake stand?

No. Cake stands, tiering structures, serving pieces and other display materials must be supplied by the customer, caterer, venue or event planner.

Will Grounds decorate my cinnamon bun cake?

We don’t currently provide flowers, toppers or custom decorations. Once your order has been picked up, you’re welcome to personalize the display with flowers, toppers, candles or other decorations that suit your celebration.

Can Grounds help me figure out how many cinnamon buns I need?

Yes. Let us know your approximate guest count and how you plan to serve the cinnamon buns, and we’ll help you think through an appropriate quantity.

Can I order cinnamon buns without making a celebration cake?

Absolutely. For many events, boxes of cinnamon buns are all you need. Our cinnamon buns are packaged in six-packs and can be ordered in larger quantities for weddings, events, parties and other celebrations.

Can I order a cookie tower?

You can order our tuxedo, chocolate chip and vegan oatmeal raisin cookies to create your own cookie tower or display. Grounds supplies the cookies; assembly and presentation are up to you or your event professionals.

Do you offer custom cinnamon bun flavours for events?

At this time, celebration cakes use our classic cinnamon buns with cream cheese icing.

How much notice do you need?

The more notice, the better, especially for weddings and larger events. That said, sometimes celebrations come together quickly. If you have a last-minute request, reach out and we’ll do our best to accommodate it depending on the size and type of order.

Where do I pick up my order?

Orders can be picked up during regular store hours from either Grounds for Coffee location in Vancouver. Pickup can be arranged as early as 7 a.m.

What is your cancellation policy?

Orders are paid in full when your order is placed. If you need to cancel, the following cancellation fees apply:

  • 3–5 days before pickup: 25% cancellation fee
  • Less than 48 hours before pickup: 50% cancellation fee
  • Same-day cancellations or no-shows: No refund
